Agency Arms Obtains Design Patent On Their Accelerator Cut

My limited knowledge of the "accelerator cut" leads me to believe that it provides a raised surface for forward application, stabilizing pressure with the thumb of the shooter support. The concept is reminiscent of the gas pedal design applied to some competition pistols.

Therefore, the agency arms patent is for a decorative design and not fully functional. I'm not sure if anyone has patented the accelerator pedal design before, and I'm certainly not an intellectual property lawyer, but a legal dispute is likely. .

Suppose a Salient Arms International or ATEI manufacturer decides to screw up a design near the accelerator cut, would the agency seek damages for patent law violations?
